Island Guardians

Island Guardians is a community-driven public art project by Kaua‘i artist Trysen Kaneshige of Inspire To Create Media LLC.

Each Guardian is a vibrant mural character inspired by Hawai‘i’s natural elements, cultural values, and island spirit paired with a QR code linking to an interactive digital lore portal with stories, affirmations, and educational resources.

The goal:

• Celebrate Hawai‘i’s culture and environment
• Engage the community through art, storytelling, and STEM learning
• Create an evolving, self-sustaining series of murals across the islands
  

Funding for each Guardian comes from limited-edition merchandise drops and community support, ensuring long-term sustainability while bringing unique art experiences to public spaces.

The first phase will launch the first Guardian mural and interactive portal, creating a model that can expand across Hawai‘i.
